Early Warning of Rail Closure between 10th and 18th December

The rail line between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction will be closed between the above dates.

Network Rail are writing to let you know that 9-days of consecutive work will begin between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction from Saturday 10 December. We’ll be renewing the track at Perretts Bridge by Tisbury station as well as installing tactile paving at Gillingham and Sherborne railway station. Whist at these stations we will also be working on our drainage systems.

During these dates, passengers should check before they travel as there will be changes to services, with buses replacing trains on the route. Please see links below to useful websites which will have further information to arrange travel plans :

This work is part of a wider project to improve passenger journeys in the West of England. We recently completed engineering work between Axminster and Honiton, and at Yeovil Pen Mill. These works included strengthening the cutting at Honiton Tunnel and undertaking vital track maintenance. Our work this December will mean we can continue to deliver a better, more reliable railway.
