The Parish Council received the following update from the responsible officer at our Parish Council Meeting on Tuesday 11th April
West Side
In addition to the previous updates, the S167 notice provided the known land owners 4 weeks to provide the requested information and enter into discussions about the remedial works required. I am aware that there has been a legal challenge to the S167 notice which is currently with the Council’s legal dept and I expect some further guidance from them in respect to this by the end of this week. I can advise that at present works have been programmed, by Somerset Council, to commence on 24th April 2023 which will incorporate a change to the traffic management by introducing a pedestrian crossing point and re-alignment of the temporary traffic lights/associated barriers to allow any works to be carried out. Where works are commenced it is expected that it will take approximately 3 weeks to completion.
East Side
In addition to points mentioned previously and whilst the legal ownership is yet to be fully explored by the Council’s legal dept, work is programmed to be carried out by Somerset Council and expected to commence on 17th April 2023. The work will incorporate a change to the traffic management by introducing a pedestrian crossing point and re-alignment of the temporary traffic lights/associated barriers to allow repair work to be carried out, to a short section of the wall on this (east) side. This repair is expected to take 1 week to be completed.
