Your Parish Council set its budget for the year April 2023 to March 2024 at the January meeting. As part of this discussion we had to determine the precept amount for the same period. The new Unitary Council will be increasing the Council Tax by 4.99% after an extensive expenditure review.
Abbas and Templecombe Parish Council agreed to raise the precept by the same amount which means for the average Band D property the annual cost would be £56.25 compared with this years cost of £53.57 – a relatively small increase.
In order to achieve this the Parish Council has decided to reduce its reserves to cover the difference between the income from the precept and the necessary expenditure to run the Council and meet its obligations
